Ross Emery

Ross Emery

MD, FAAP

Dr. Emery is President of Saco River Medical Group. He was born and raised in New England before going to McGill University in Montreal for college, and later worked at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where he met his wife, and attended Jefferson Medical College. Prior to coming to Saco River Medical Group in 2001, Dr. Emery received his pediatric residency training at Maine Medical Center.

He has a love for science that can be combined with the human experience of getting to know his patients and their families, and now has multiple former patients bringing their own children to him for care. As an administrator, Dr. Emery is passionate about watching Saco River Medical Group thrive and improve, while focusing on quality and team-based care.

New Hampshire Healthy Families, a major insurance provider for tens of thousands of NH residents, presented the 2021 Physician Summit Award to Dr. Emery. This program acknowledges the efforts physicians make to provide quality care, show clinical excellence to NH Healthy Family members and demonstrate exemplary performance in several areas.

Outside of work, he enjoys being active outdoors, playing Co-Ed hockey at the Ham Arena, and spending time with his wife and two boys, who now have careers in Mathematics.

Rich Laracy

DO, FAAP

Dr. Laracy began his work as a pediatrician at Saco River Medical Group in August of 2002. He received his Bachelors of Science from Ursinus College in 1991. Dr. Laracy then went on to receive his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and graduated from there in 1995. While at PCOM, he received the Health Professions Scholarship from the United States Navy and a commission as a United States Naval Officer.

After graduation from PCOM, he completed his pediatric internship at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, California. From there he was assigned as a General Medical Officer for 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines, 1ST Marine Division at Camp Pendleton, CA. While stationed there, Dr. Laracy received the Navy Commendation Medal for his actions in leading two separate emergency medical evacuations of injured Marines during live fire exercises in the Mojave Desert in September of 1996.

After his active duty tour in the United States Navy, Dr. Laracy completed his pediatric residency at Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital in Portland, ME. During his residency, he enjoyed teaching physical exam skills to medical students as an Adjunct Clinical Faculty for the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has continued this commitment to teaching medical students and has been a preceptor for medical students in his office at Saco River Medical Group.

Volunteering his time and skills has been a large part of Dr. Laracy’s life. In 1992, he joined a medical relief expedition to Haiti to provide medical care and supplies to several orphanages throughout the country. In 2005, seven days after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, he flew down on his own to give medical support to the victims. While there, he joined a medical team of doctors, nurses and EMTs and set up a medical triage in the parking lot of the New Orleans Convention Center which treated hundreds of patients each day. Dr. Laracy also has volunteered on the Cranmore Mountain Ski Patrol and volunteers as the Kennett High School Varsity Football team doctor.

Dr. Laracy and his wife, Julie, absolutely love living here in the Mt. Washington Valley. Their two twin sons, Aidan and Timmy, also enjoyed growing up here and now are both engineers in Burlington, Vermont. In his free time, Dr. Laracy likes to mountain bike, trail run with their dog Little Eddy, surf and ski.

Dr. Laracy completed his BS in Biology at Ursinus College before obtaining his medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. After serving his pediatric internship in the Navy from 1995 to 1999, he finished his pediatric residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland, then came to Saco River Medical Group in 2002. Dr. Laracy is passionate about building patient- doctor bonds and determining how to help his patients and their family to the fullest capacity. He enjoys living in the Valley with his family, and spends his time serving as a volunteer on the Ski Patrol at Cranmore Mountain. Dr. Laracy is also the team physician for Kennett High School Varsity Football.
